I have been a Cambridge resident since 2006, and a Mom to twins who are now sophomores at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. My personal experience with the Cambridge Public Schools is as a parent and an active member of our schools since my girls entered junior kindergarten at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. elementary school. Highlights of my involvement with public education include:
I have been elected to the following School Councils: -- Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) (2024, currently serving)-- Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) (2023-2024)-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. elementary school (MLK) (2019-2021, co-chair 2020-2021)
I was a member of the MLK elementary school Friends group for many years (2014-2020).
I volunteered for the Weekend Backpack program (MLK) and Food for Free (CCSC).
I served on the 2023 Working Group led by Robin Harris to re-imagine the CPS School Council Handbook.
I authored the CRLS Family Handbook as a CRLS Family Connection member. When complete it was reviewed by CRLS administrators, who authorized printing copies for all incoming 9th graders and distributed in Spring 2025.
As a journalist with the Cambridge Day newspaper from 2019 through 2024, I focused on the Cambridge Public School District, writing stories that covered a wide range of topics.
Outside of Cambridge, my education experience includes teaching at a grammar school in Lahore, Pakistan, and at a high school in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.
